• ORIGIN: joint Invention of American Screw Company and Phillips Screw Company. More recent than the Phillips screw, its first use dates from 1936 on the Cadillacs. FEATURES: form 4 main branches and 4 small staggered branches. Form more efficient than the Phillips screw: an ejection of the tip at the end of tightening due to the inclination of the sides of the cavity (which prevents the skid of the tool), the tightening torque is higher and the engagement of the tip is fast. Even if the bits seem compatible between Pozidriv and Phillips, using the wrong tip leads to wear of the screws.
